On behalf of the City of Berwyn, we would like to welcome you to the project website for the 16th Street Project. This resurfacing project, with traffic signal improvements, and associated improvements at 16th Street from Harlem Avenue (IL 43) to Lombard Avenue is a continued initiative to improve the infrastructure throughout the community.
This project will be funded by a combination of Congestion Mitigation Air Quality (CMAQ) funds and Surface Transportation Program Urban (STU) funds provided by the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) and local funds provided by the City of Berwyn.
This project includes roadway milling and resurfacing, traffic signal improvements, permeable paver installation, curb and gutter removal and replacement, sidewalk removal and replacement, combined sewer repair and lining, pavement marking, tree plantings, and final restoration.
In accordance with the City of Berwyn ordinance, daily working hours for the construction project are from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM on weekdays, and 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM on weekends. There is currently no work anticipated on Sundays or major legal Holidays.
